This is a basement apartment fully furnished with a kitchenette fully equipped (refrigerator, oven, garbage disposal, toaster oven, toaster, etc.), Full bathroom, bedroom and open spaced living/dining room area. It's furnished with a futton bed,... closet space and nightstand in the bedroom, a desk, chair and futton couch (opens up to a bed) and a coffee table in the living room, dining table with chairs and an extra counter on wheels in the dining room and kitchen space. There is a closet for coats, extra shoe storage, extra linen storage space and washer/dryer in the hallway and a full bathroom with a bathtub. There is free parking on the street. The apartment is well lit inside and outside. The stairs leading to the house upstairs have been secured by a security door so its is fully independent with it's own entrance and full sized windows for fire exit. It's fully equipped with a fire extinguisher, fire and carbon dioxide alarms in all the rooms. Utilities are included but with the idea the tenant isn't working from home all day, every day so please be mindful of that. This is a quite neighborhood about 20mins by car from the UMD campus with a family of 3 on the top floor. Must be OK with dogs as we have two dogs that do regularly visit the backyard and access to this basement apartment is through the backyard. Must have a car as public transportation is near by but not directly accessible to the campus. The greenbelt metro station is about 15mins away. Shoppers, home Depot and Best buy about 5mins away. Costco, Aldi, post office, UPS and major banks about 3mins away. This space is ideal for a graduate student with a job who is looking for a quiet space and has a car. The apartment is available in late fall of 2024. Pets are allowed but would prefer only cats since we already have dogs and may get complicated in the yard. If there is a cat involved the security deposit is $1,500 versus $1,000. Because utilities are included in the rent of $1,000 per month, we ask that the tenant be respectful and mindful of that. If you are planning to stay home and work from home all day, this would not be the ideal situation. Yearly contract or more is available and preferred.
