1 Bedroom Available in Spacious House 1.5 miles from UMD Campus (Shared Housing)

Please only inquire if you are agreeable to a lease term starting no later than August 1, 2026 and ending on July 31, 2027. I unfortunately cannot accommodate a lease that ends any time other than July 31, 2027. However, I can accommodate an earlier... lease start date, any time in July.

I have an upstairs bedroom available for rent in a spacious home in The Town of Berwyn Heights, about 1.5 miles walking distance to the University of Maryland (to the big M Circle), and just a couple of blocks from the main entrance to beautiful Lake Artemesia. The house is co-ed and I am happy to rent to a tenant of any gender, but the tenant for this room will share a bathroom with a female tenant. The room is 111 square feet (10'1" x 11") plus an additional 13 square feet in closet space (3'4" wide x 4' deep). The house is a 4 bedroom, 2 story home. Other tenants are mixed gender and are a mix of graduate students, and young professionals. The rent for this bedroom is $715/month.
Shared Spaces: The 4 tenants in the house will share the kitchen, living room, den, foyer, laundry room, back deck, and all outdoor spaces. The backyard is very large with large garden.

One returning tenant has a cat and another returning tenant has received my permission to get a cat, so this probably isn't the place for you if you have cat allergies.

- Parking: There is space for 2 parked cars in the U-shaped driveway (first-come, first-serve) and there is also plenty of free on-street parking right in front of the house.
- Pets: Cats will be considered on a case-by-case basis and may require an additional security deposit if approved.
- Utilities: Utilities are not included in the rent and will be split equally among all tenants (normally 4). This includes water, electric, high-speed internet, and paying someone to keep the lawn cut and in compliance with city ordinances. Last year's utility costs averaged roughly $135 per person per month. No guarantees can be made about future utility costs and this should be used as a rough guide only. Utility costs vary significantly throughout the year based on several variables, including weather, level of usage, seasonal usage rate fluctuations, and the timing of each utility's billing cycle.
- Furnishings: The bedroom is unfurnished. The Living Room, Kitchen, and Den are currently furnished. I may have some old furniture left by past tenants that I can hold for you if you are interested.
